Real Madrid invite 500 socially disadvantaged children to watch the Santiago Bernabéu Trophy

NEWS | 10/08/2018

They come from shelters, the Red Cross, the Madrid Down Syndrome, Padre Garralda and Juan XXIII Foundations and Samur Social.
In celebration of the Foundation's 20th anniversary, Real Madrid C. F. has decided to invite groups at risk of social exclusion which it seeks to help with its socio-sporting projects to the XXXIX edition of the Santiago Bernabéu Trophy, set to take place on Saturday the 11th of August. Up to five hundred children will get the chance to enjoy the clash.

They come from the Centres run by the Dirección General de la Familia y el Menor, the Foundation's partner in running specific schools in shelters and youth detention centres in the Community of Madrid. They will also be joined by young people who benefit from the projects of the Red Cross, the Madrid Down Syndrome Foundation, the Fundación Juan XXIII, Fundación Alapar and Fundación Padre Garralda-Horizontes Abiertos.

Multiple projects
The Foundation runs more than 160 socio-sporting projects in Spain, which cater for 13,500 participants each season throughout its different activities in hospitals, detention centres, young-people's centres, residences for the elderly and the homeless and in the socio-sporting schools and those for inclusive and adapted sporting activity. Many of these projects are carried out in collaboration with specialised organisations for groups at risk of exclusion, all of which will be represented by their beneficiaries at the Santiago Bernabéu Trophy.
