“At the start we made errors but we came back to finish well”, admitted Llorente.
Odriozola spoke to the press after his debut with Real Madrid in the Manchester United match: "It was an unforgettable night for me. It's something I won't ever forget: debuting with Real Madrid is a tremendous source of pride. The boss told me to keep doing what I've been doing so far and to play with complete confidence. With players like Karim, Bale ... everything is much easier, it's a true pleasure to play alongside them."
"We came away from that with good feelings. It was our first game and Manchester United had already played four or five games and they were more in their rhythm. What we have to do now is get our physical grit back, take the advice that Julen gives us and tactically work for the team. For the first test you have to show good signs and keep working to remain ready."
"I see this team and our great players. We have very good strikers, Karim, Borja, Bale and Vinicius, who also did great things on their debut. I focus on the squad, for me we have the best players in the world. This team won the Champions League two months ago, so there is a very important quality here and we will fight to keep winning all the titles."
Llorente: "We feel good"
"We feel good, at first it took a while, but then we played better and finished at a great level. This is our first game and you have to be calm and stay patient. Every coach has their own world and we have to adapt to the ideas the Julen brings, he asks us to adapt. My goal is to work hard every day and when the coach decides, I can play. My idea has always been to stay here, I want to grow at this club, succeed and win some titles."
Cristiano's departure
"It's a personal decision for him, we have to respect him for everything he has given us over an incredible nine years. What he decides will be for the best. He is a great player and it is a big loss, but we have great players who can fill Cristiano's boots. We will try to make up for such a loss."
