“They are top level games but I’m feeling relaxed and well-prepared because I know my players are ready for this. It has been a tough season for us. We have had injuries, but in the end, we have managed to get a group of players ready in time. We're going into a huge Final Four, we know how arduous it can be and we're just happy to have come this far”.
Proud of the team
After the press conference, speaking to Real Madrid's official outlets, Laso said: “Getting as far as we have is what makes me proud of this team. It is a competition that starts in October, you play against every team, and then there is a playoff… It is a source of pride to get this far but things happen like they always do. You get this far and then you want to go on and win. We really think we can do it. For us it is special because of the situations that we battled through and now our sole focus is the semi-final tie”.
Three years since la Novena
“I don't like to look back but yesterday when we were having our meal the documentary was on. We have great memories. All editions of the Final Four are special and the 17th May was a monumental day, the day when the European champions were crowned. It got me thinking about the same kind of thing happening in the next few days…”.
