- 2 Division B Group I
- Matchday 38
The game began with a great technical demonstration by Quezada, who made his way to the by-line before leaving behind two Valladolid players, steeping on the ball and picking out Cristo who was unable to open the scoring. The Real Madrid striker had the first opportunity after 12 minutes and just two minutes later broke the deadlock. Assisted by Feuillassier, Cristo beat Guille with a powerful shot from the tightest of angles.
The home side reacted, calling Belman in to action with two saves in a short space of time, but the Whites’ goalkeeper couldn’t keep out the penalty which Valladolid B equalise with (21 '). Castilla were back in front shortly after thanks to a Quezada free kick witch he sent home with class with 28 minutes on the clock. Both teams played open football, creating chances at both ends.
After the break, the intensity dropped and the match was interrupted with a series of fouls. Castilla looked to extend their lead, firstly through Óscar and then Cristo with a shot on 59'. Then it was time for the Belman show. Valladolid went in search of the equaliser, but came up against a goalkeeper on form, making some fine saves to keep the home side at bay. A good performance which saw Castilla end the season unbeaten in the last seven games.
