Laso: “The Copa is an edge-of-your-seat competition”

“We're on a good run in this competition”, added Carroll.
Pablo Laso and Jaycee Carroll spoke to the press following the team's final training session at Real Madrid City before setting off for Las Palmas. The coach had the following to say: “The Copa is an edge-of-your-seat competition and when the moment comes, the players are all ready to go. There is no use thinking of what has come before, even though we did well in the four consecutive games, that won't help us tomorrow. We have to focus on the competition, we know that, we have to be physically and mentally honed”.

“The team are doing very well, training with a great attitude. Both Rudy and Thompkins, after being unavailable at the weekend, did well. Ayón trained with the team but tomorrow would be too early for him. The team are looking goof to me so I’m feeling laid back now. We're coming up against a Unicaja side who have come on leaps and bounds this season and they can make things tough in one off games We have to play exceptionally well if we're going to compete with them”.

Single game
“That's how this competition goes and people love it because every game is a final. Whether you play well or badly cannot be changed and so you have to be prepared to play your best basketball there and then. Other than that, you can just focus on the next game. It is an attractive competition for spectators and we aspire to be competitive just as we have been so far this year”.

Carroll: “You have to block out Unicaja's strengths”
"We're on a good run, and we’ve won this trophy in recent years, but we're looking forward to playing in this edition of the Copa and we haven’t rally been discussing the four consecutive Copa titles we have. This is another year, another Copa, and they all have slight differences, we're all thinking about this like it will be the first one we have a chance to win".

"I think it's good to learn from the previous games against Unicaja, but the key in this tie will be blocking out what they do well. We've been looking at specific players and at how we can lower their scoring percentages. In terms of what we're doing, we're hunkering down on our defense and the rebounds, we can find solutions in offense".
