"Despite the advantage we had from the first leg, we knew it would be difficult", insisted Tejero.
Borja Mayoral struck both of Real Madrid's goals in the side's meeting with Fuenlabrada and the forward reflected on his first brace in a Real Madrid shirt after the team secured their passage into the last 16 of the Copa del Rey: "Those were my first two goals in a competitive game here at the Bernabéu, which is the best stadium in the world. Scoring goals in this shirt and in this stadium is a real joy and I hope that there are many more to come. It was a shame that we didn't manage to win the game. We have to keep on working and we're through to the next round, which is the main thing".

"They put in a good performance. Fuenlabrada are top of their league and they came here and played to their strengths. The lower intensity of those of us who don't get as much game time was noticeable and as for Kovacic and Bale it's always a bit more of a struggle after you've been out for such a long time. Bale is a key player and we saw that tonight. His pass for my first goal was superb".

"These opportunities are really precious and I try to make the most of them by scoring and performing well. My dream is to play here and this is where I'm at my happiest. I have to work hard to get the chances and deliver when the opportunities come along".

Mayoral: "It was a shame that we didn't manage to win the game, but we're through to the last 16, which is the main thing".

"The academy players have to work hard. There are a lot of them in the first-team squad and they have every right to be with us. They must work hard every day and focus on Castilla. You have to congratulate them because they played very well".
Tejero: "We’re happy to get through to the next round"
"Despite the advantage we had from the first leg, we knew it would be difficult. In the end we’re happy to get through to the next round. After the break we knew we had to stick to our task and we improved in the second half".

"We're already aware of what Bale is capable of, he brought fresh legs to the side and he made a difference".

"These supporters are demanding, they’re the best in the world, and want us to play well so that they can enjoy themselves. When they see that the team isn’t playing well, it’s to be expected that they whistle a bit".
