Real Madrid set up the traditional Charity table at the Santiago Bernabéu as part of the 'Día de la banderita’ event.
For yet another year, Real Madrid has collaborated with the Spanish Red Cross as part of the Día de la banderita charity event with a charity table set up in the entrance of the Santiago Bernabéu presidential box. This time around, all of the proceeds will go towards helping young people. The club's honorary president, Paco Gento, attended the event alongside other veteran players such as Pachín and Amancio. Gento stated: “We attend this great event every year, we're really happy to do so. I hope that I can attend such an event for many years to come as helping people is so important for the club and there are many children who are suffering”.
After the first team's training session, Theo, Luca and Marcos Llorente arrived. The midfielder shared his views: "This is my first year at the event and I am thrilled to be getting involved and helping out. I want to be able to come along each year, this is something truly exceptional for the kids”. Theo added: “It is a real pleasure to help out these children who are fighting such illnesses. I'll always make time for anything of this sort”. Luca praised the project, stating that: “Helping others has always been something close to my heart, I hope today is the first of many. If everyone gets involved then it'll be a magnificent boost for these kids, I really hope we can help them in any way”.

The former Real Madrid player Álvaro Arbeloa also got involved with the Red Cross: “I've been taking part in these for some time and I'm happy to be back this year. What we do on days like these is really vital for the children, I'm sure it'll give them real hope“.
Veteran basketball players Rullán, José Antonio Muñoz and Paniagua also took part in the event. Paniagua had the following to say: “This is a key part of our role within the Association of Real Madrid Basketball Players and we make sure we're here for both events each year, in spring and in autumn. Our roles in these events are key. Real Madrid are always there for people in every possible moment, and in tough times especially”.
