Zidane: "It's a stadium that simply oozes Champions League and winning here represents a challenge for us"

"We come here on the back of a win and are ready for what's a key game", stated the Whites' coach from the media room at the Signal Iduna Park.
Zinedine Zidane took to the media room at the Signal Iduna Park on the eve of his side's clash against Borussia Dortmund. The Real Madrid coach had the following to say about the defending European champions' first away game of this Champions League campaign: "We're in good shape. We come here on the back of a win and I'm pleased to once again be involved in a Champions League game at what's a fine stadium. This is our last training session and we're ready for tomorrow's game. This is a stadium that simply oozes Champions League and winning here represents a challenge for us".

"Whichever ground you play at it's always tough. We've never won here and it's a challenge for us, because we always go out to try and win. We want to play some good football and I want to see a good game. Every three days you have to prove your worth".

"That's the pressure we're under, but it doesn't mean anything because we have to show what we're worth in every single game. We want to try and give our all and progress as far as we can. We're in the group stage and once we qualify for the next stage, we'll have to see what happens. Tomorrow's is an important game and we want to win it".

Praise for Casemiro
"He's a key player and he offers us balance in both defence and attack. He intercepts a lot of passes and does the same job that (Claude) Makélélé  did back in the day at this club or (Didier) Deschamps did for France. The way he's performing isn't a surprise to any of us. He's confident and is getting better by the day. He always gives his all out on the pitch".

"He's here with us and that means to say that he's fine. We know just how important he is to this team. We've got our final session now and we'll see how he gets on".

I believe in the players that I've got and this is a good setting in which for us to win.

"The most important thing is to create the chances and we're doing that, but we can't be happy after having only scored twice in Vitoria after carving out so many chances. I believe in the players that I've got and tomorrow we've got the chance to change all of that. Every three days we've got to go out and show that we like scoring goals, and sometimes things don't go to plan, but we'll continue to work hard and show our desire. This is a good setting in which for us to win tomorrow".

Lack of confidence
"I don't think we're lacking in confidence because we believe in what we do. Whilst it's true that there may always be question marks if you look in from the outside, but that's what we have to deal with every three days, that's the tricky part. Every season and every game will be more difficult and if we don't perform to a high standard, things will get tough for us".

Carvajal's game time
"I'm not concerned and we've got Achraf and Nacho who can both operate in that role. We're at the start of the season and Dani is a player that recovers quickly after games. It's important to follow a healthy lifestyle when you know that you've got games every three days, plus he's a young lad".

Affording the opposition many chances
"It's not something that worries me because your opponents are there to pose you problems. What I'm concerned about is trying to play well and producing good football. If you play fine football, you'll create chances, but the opposition are there to make your life difficult. We have to try and nullify that. LaLiga is the toughest league in the world and at times the most difficult thing is to maintain high standards throughout the whole season".

"They're all the same, both in Spain and in European competitions. They just try to do their job and I'm not here to talk about referees. They've got a tough task on their hands and I'm just focused on my team and tomorrow's game".
