NEWS | 24/09/2017“I am young and I know there is strong competition here”, he admitted when speaking to the press.
“In my house we always speak about being humble and the value of hard work even if you're already at the biggest club in the world. You still have to give it your all. I've managed to keep climbing up the ranks of the club and Real Madrid is the club that has a place in my heart, all of my family have played here”.
Reception at Mendizorroza
“They chanted my name and that was incredible to get that reception. It was a great year and I'm very grateful, but life is a serious of stages. Going out on a loan was a great moment in my career and did me the world of good. I played in many games, but that time is over and now I'm surrounded by tough competition”.
“Zidane has asked me to do just what I did at Alavés: keep running, defend and attack in much the same way I did up there. I have to work hard in training and take advantage of the chances the coach has given me."
“It is difficult to get minutes here and I didn't come in with a preordained idea of how much I would play. I just came in wanting to grow and get to train with these players”.
Learning from his teammates
“There are some truly gifted players here. They bring their experience and do whatever the coach asks. This is the best club in the world, I know, just as my family do, that I can grow here as a player”.
Advice to youth team players
“You have to work hard because it is tough here, but if you give your all in training you will look back on it with pride when you break into the team”.
Idols and dreams
“My footballing idol is Xabi Alonso and I hope to win as many titles as I can with Real Madrid”.
