“He's one of the most promising young defenders in Spanish football and he's got all the qualities necessary to be a success at Real Madrid”, said Florentino Pérez.
Jesús Vallejo has been presented as a new Real Madrid player, the 20-year-old defender from Zaragoza joining the squad of the reigning Champions League and LaLiga champions. The event, which took place in the presidential box at the Santiago Bernabéu, kicked off with a video showing off some of the footballer's best moments.

The president, Florentino Pérez, then welcomed him to the club and wished him luck in this new era, which will see him don the number 3 shirt: “Last season was magnificent. Real Madrid have made history once again but we know what these triumphs mean. That's why we're working to perfect this already fantastic team. We've got a great squad, but staying faithful to our non-conformist spirit, we're looking to take another step forward”.

Quality
“We're always looking for the best and it's our responsibility to bring new players into this exceptional group. For many years now, Real Madrid have been bringing in young players with great personalities and fantastic potential".

"Today, we're incredibly pleased to be able to present another one of them. He's a player who has all the qualities necessary to be a success at Real Madrid. He's 20 years old and has quality in abundance to come into the first team. We would like to welcome Jesús Vallejo”.

It's our responsibility to bring new players into an exceptional group.

“Many congratulations, I imagine that today is an emotional one for you and your family. This stadium is your home and this badge is the symbol which should serve as your guide. Vallejo comes here at a very young age but with a career that already marks him out as one of the best and most promising defenders in Spanish football. Jesús, today you embark on the biggest adventure of your professional career - the biggest, the most demanding and most thrilling”.

Tribute to Alfredo Di Stéfano
“Just as it was in his day for the best player of all time, Alfredo Di Stéfano, who left us on this day exactly three years ago. We remember him with strong emotions, although he remains a constant presence at this great club. I want to recall the fact that he changed the history of football and of Real Madrid. Jesús, this is your home, welcome. All I have to say, just like Alfredo Di Stéfano did, is, look after the ball and play to win”.

Vallejo: “I'm going to give my all for this badge and this shirt”
“Many thanks to everyone; to you, Mr. President for your words, to the club, who have shown faith in me when they signed me, and again now as a first-team player. I know this is far from over, there's still so much to come for me. With the values of humility, effort and sacrifice that my parents have fostered in me, I hope to be here for many years, at the best club in the world. I would like to thank my family and friends and my girlfriend as well, who couldn't be here today”.

“I want to thank the fans for the warm welcome, it's been wonderful. Being a Real Madrid player makes you proud and it's a responsibility. I'm thrilled to accept this responsibility. Thanks to everyone, I'm going to give my all for this badge and this shirt. Hala Madrid!”. The ceremony was concluded with a family photo of the new player alongside Florentino Pérez and several members of the Board of Directors.
