On 3 June 2017, Real Madrid added to the legend of the club in the European Cup. The Whites won la Duodécima thanks to their amazing 4-1 win over Juventus at the National Stadium of Wales. Cristiano Ronaldo was chosen as the man of the match in the final thanks to his two goals. The Portuguese forward opened the scoring, but before half time Mandzukic levelled things up.
After the break, Real Madrid took control of the match and put in an exceptional performance in the second half with goals from Casemiro, Cristiano Ronaldo and Asensio. The final whistle signalled the beginning of the celebrations out on the pitch and saw Real Madrid become the first team to win the Champions League in two consecutive seasons.

Four titles in the same season
The joy of the third European Cup and league double in the club’s history moved on to the changing room where the players celebrated the triumph and were photographed with the trophy accompanied by King Juan Carlos. The Santiago Bernabéu also experienced la Duodécima triumph, as the fans followed the final on eight giant screens.

Ronaldo was the top scorer in the competition for the fifth consecutive season.
Along with Zidane and Florentino Pérez, the media around the world highlighted the great feat achieved by Real Madrid. On the way to la Duodécima, the Whites were the top scoring team in the competition with 36 goals. They also passed the mark of 500 goals in the Champions League, being the first team to reach this milestone.
The day after the final, the team visited the Community of Madrid headquarters and the Town Hall to present the trophy to the madridistas. Shortly after, the most emotional moments of the celebrations came with the parties at Cibeles and the Santiago Bernabéu. Madridismo brought to an end a brilliant season in which for the first time, the club won four titles: European Cup, league, Club World Cup and European Super Cup.
