"It's an honor to receive this award", said the Slovenian after winning the Rising Star Trophy.
Luka Doncic has been chosen by the EuroLeague teams’ coaches as the best young player in the competition (under 22 years old) and winner of the Rising Star Trophy. The Slovenian has won the MVP in four rounds of the Regular Season. He beat Ante Zizic (Darussafaka), Marko Guduric (Red Star) and Ilimane Diop (Baskonia). Doncic is the third madridista to win it after Nikola Mirotic (2011 and 2012) and Rudy when playing for Joventut (2007).
In the current campaign, the Real Madrid youth has averaged 8.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per match. Doncic was also the second best assist maker in the team, second in steals and third in rebounds and PIR (13.9). "It's an honor to receive this award and it’s a further motivation to continue working hard. These awards are a display of what Real Madrid is with great players, great teams and always doing an incredible job", said the Slovenian.
