"The team were outstanding, we performed very well right from the first whistle to the last", declared the striker in the wake of his hat-trick against Atlético.
His hat-trick against Atlético saw Cristiano Ronaldo bring his Real Madrid goals tally to 400. The Portuguese forward has reached this milestone in 389 appearances and further cements his status as the club's all-time leading goalscorer. These goals have come in the following competitions: LaLiga (281), the Champions League (88), the Copa del Rey (22), the Club World Cup (four), the UEFA Super Cup (two) and the Spanish Super Cup (three).

Delight following victory over Atlético
"The team did a tremendous job, we were outstanding. It was a complete performance and we performed very well right from the first whistle to the last. I'm very happy to have struck a hat-trick and made it 400 goals for Real Madrid. We've now got a good lead, but there's still the return leg to come and the tie isn't over yet. Atlético are a very fine, strong side and it's not by chance that they're in the semi-finals. We'll have to be focused for next Wednesday's game".

The club's all-time leading goalscorer
Ronaldo's impressive goalscoring rate saw him leave other legendary marksmen in his wake some time ago, such as the likes of Raúl (323 goals in 741 appearances) and Di Stéfano (308 in 396). What's more, amongst the numerous goalscoring records he holds, in 2017 he became the first player to have surpassed the 100-goal mark in the European Cup.

Goals per season
Cristiano has notched over 30 goals each season since joining Real Madrid, and has already struck 35 times in the 2016/17 campaign. The forward’s stats in his previous seasons are as follows: 33 (2009/10), 54 (2010/11), 60 (2011/12), 55 (2012/13), 51 (2013/14), 61 (2014/15) and 51 (2015/16).
