“We are playing in a difficult stadium against Eibar, but we hope to play well”, added the Real Madrid coach.
Zinedine Zidane spoke to the press at Real Madrid City the day before the game against Eibar. The Whites’ coach started by paying tribute to Raymond Kopa: “Before starting we would like to express our sadness and offer condolences to the family of Raymond Kopa, who was one of our own. We are deeply saddened by what has happened”.

“We hope to put in a good performance at Ipurua, play 90 great minutes. As with all games, we know the challenges that lie in wait at this ground, it is a tough place to go. We depend on ourselves and are not looking for excuses. We know what training hard and fighting in each game can get us. The results have not gone our way lately but the important thing is that we give 100%”.

Dressing room
“Today we spoke in the dressing room as we always do, and looked at video analysis and had a slightly longer chat than usual, but what we said stays in the dressing room. We are trying to do things out on the pitch but it doesn’t always happen for us, we spoke about things and that is that. I know you are worried about the dressing room but that is normal add we are clear on what we want to do and we will keep fighting”.

“He wasn't feeling 100% and that is why he did not train today. All of the game are important, but the key thing is that the players do well, so now we have to see what we're going to do with Cristiano”.

We would like to express our sadness and offer condolences to the family of Raymond Kopa.

“I have 24 players and my message has always been the same since I arrived: everyone is important. I am not going to change. I have to make decisions and some players will be left out and others on the bench. If we want to win LaLiga we cannot drop points, playing every three days we will need to rotate. I am not going to disregard anyone, I am satisfied with all of my players, whatever ever happens between now and the end”.

“I sense it whenever we have a bad game or we don’t achieve what we want. It happens here and in many clubs. We analyse things and look at how we can improve. Although there is a lot of negativity, that will always be the way and we know that. I am used to it, I’ve been here many years. For me the word ‘crisis’ does not exist at Real Madrid or in the footballing world, because every three days you have the chance to improve things”.

Reaction to the goals
“It is true that we have conceded goals recently, at Valencia, Villarreal and against Las Palmas. But the good thing is we always get back into the game and we came back to draw against Las Palmas and won against Villarreal. There are things to improve and hopefully tomorrow we can do that”.

“He is the French player who led the way for the rest of us to come to Spain. It is not easy coming to Real Madrid and playing with the best. He defined an era and we are saddened by his passing away. He was loved and respected, that is why we held a minute's silence. He was an example for me and for everyone. I was too young to watch him, but I saw footage. When he came here the love for him and what he did for the club was always palpable. People always praise him and only ever say positive things about hm. I enjoyed talking about football with him”.

“We want to send messages of support. We know it is not serious and we are happy because of that. I hope he recovers quickly”.
