Florentino Pérez attended the funeral of the ex-Whites’ player at Angers Cathedral along with Butragueño, Santamaría and Pachín.
Angers Cathedral (France) held the final farewell to Raymond Kopa. The former Real Madrid footballer between 1956 and 1959 (in which he won three European Cups, two leagues and a Latin Cup) passed away on Friday March 3 at the age of 85.

The president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, led the delegation from the club that attended the funeral mass for the ex-Whites’ player. The mass was also attended by Emilio Butragueño, director of Institutional Relations, and former teammates such as Santamaría and Pachín.

Florentino Pérez: "One of the game's true greats has left us"
“I had the pleasure of watching him play when I was a child and I can say that one of the game's and Real Madrid's true greats has left us. Alongside Di Stéfano, Puskas and Gento they formed this magical Madrid team, which is what we have inherited. It's thanks to these men that Real Madrid is what it it today".

Butragueño: "We've got to recognise just what he did for the club"
"He represents a great deal for us. We've got to really recognise just what he did for Real Madrid's history and the part he played in those glorious years that the Real Madrid fans were lucky enough to enjoy".

Santamaría: "He has left a massive mark at Real Madrid"
"He was a marvellous person and as a player, he was brilliant and was an extraordinary talent. He has left a massive mark at this club and he played his part in the triumphs of his generation. He is one of the great teammates and players in Real Madrid's history".
