Modric: “We’re very pleased with how we’ve started the year”

Modric highlighted the team performance which took the Whites to victory over Granada: “We played a good game, it was a complete performance. We scored five goals and could have had more. We’re very pleased with how we’ve started the year. The coach asks us to pressure high up and we’re able to do that well when we’re fresh physically. We need to keep this rhythm up”.

“We worked very hard in the days leading up to the Sevilla game and we’re seeing that on the pitch now. We had a week off and then did a mini pre-season when we came back”.

Marcelo: “The intensity we showed made the game easier”
“We started at an impressive pace and with discipline, it was a difficult game but the intensity we were able to show made the game a bit easier. We're not thinking about the unbeaten run, we have to take it game by game. It's impossible to win everything but that's what we'll try and do, always respecting our opponents and working hard, just as we've done in pre-season and the winter break. We're aiming to win every competition we're involved in”.
