NEWS | 25/01/2017“We had to go out and give our all and after going behind, we didn't let our heads drop”, stated Isco.
“We’ve shown over the course of the season that no matter who plays they respond well to requirements, to say that tonight we were feeling the absence of injured players would be opportunistic”.
Isco: "We kept going until the end"
"We began pretty brightly, applying the high press and enjoying lots of possession. We had a clear chance and the ball ended up hitting the crossbar, rebounded out and then it went off the post, that was a shame. After an unfortunate phase of play we found ourselves a goal down and that made things all the more difficult. We kept plugging away in the second half and on a break-away they've gone and scored a second".
The team's fighting spirit
"We had to go out and give our all and after going behind, we didn't let our heads drop. Things were looking tough but despite that we kept going until the end. We must congratulate Celta on qualifying for the next round".
The knockout tie
“The first leg had a big effect on us. In this game we found ourselves drawing and then in the next play they managed to get a second. It was an unfortunate tie for us and our errors cost us. We must learn from this and focus on LaLiga 100% so that it doesn't also slip from our grasp. I still have every faith in the team and believe we can keep getting better and better”.
