Morata named as the Spanish national team's outstanding player

"At Real Madrid every minute is golden and you've got to make the most of them", declared the youth-team graduate, who picked up the Luis Aragonés Trophy at the Marca Awards Gala.
Álvaro Morata was also amongst the award winners at the Marca Gala, as the youth-team graduate picked up the Luis Aragonés Trophy, an accolade which is into its second year and is awarded to the Spanish national team's outstanding player from the previous campaign, which in this instance was a season during which the European Championship were held.

Upon collecting his award, the forward spoke of his return to Real Madrid: "Every minute is golden and you've got to make the most of them because I'm at one of the best club's in the world and I'm living the dream. You always want to be playing, but this is a team game and it's all about picking up silverware come the end of the season.

"When I used to go and watch the football with my family, I imagined that one day I would end up playing at the Santiago Bernabéu and that's now a reality. I want to thank the fans for their support, I'll give my heart and soul for them".
