Alfredo Di Stéfano
The Under-19s dropped two points after conceding an injury-time equaliser in the opening game of the fourth edition of the UEFA Youth League. The Real Madrid side, who lead courtesy of a second-half Sergio Díaz strike, were left with a point to show for their efforts as Rosendo Marqués struck to level in the 93rd minute at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium.

The first half was an even affair and the opening exchanges proved to be tight, as both sides showed themselves to be well organised defensively, with neither affording the opposition any sights on goal. With 12 minutes on the clock, Luca had to be at his best to deny Rosendo Marqués from point-blank range with what was the Lisbon outfit's best chance of the game. Meanwhile, at the other end Franchu came close to putting the Whites into the ascendancy right on the stroke of half-time, but his effort sailed over the bar.

The opener
It was Sergio Díaz who struck to put Real Madrid ahead at the start of the second period, after both Mario and Valverde had tested Pedro Silva with efforts from outside the box just minutes earlier. The Paraguayan made no mistake when when put clean through on 55 minutes. A fine through ball from Valverde set Díaz away and he finished well to open his account in this year's tournament.

Injury-time drama
The Whites sought to continue dictating proceedings and they continued to look organised at the back, as the hosts stifled the Sporting threat, as the visitors laid siege on Luca's goal in search of an equaliser. With the 90 minutes up and with one of the last moves of the game, Rosendo Marqués fired home to level the scores.
