Santiago Bernabéu
The Corazón Classic Match 2016 was an all-round success. It was another perfect afternoon of football and solidarity. The fans turned up to the Santiago Bernabéu in numbers and the legends were able to enjoy playing again in the madridista temple. And they did it all for a good cause: all of the profits will be donated to the Cáritas España program for homeless people. The football on show from the Real Madrid and Ajax legend didn't deceive and nor did the result, a 3-1 win for the Whites with goals from Figo, McManaman and Butragueño. The fans were against able to see Raúl's stepovers, Roberto Carlos' shots, Figo's crossing and the back heals from Guti. It was Ajax however who took the lead after an Overmars cross was cleared by Roberto Carlos but the ball rebounded off of Seedorf and went in to the net.

Madridista goals
Despite going behind Real Madrid were superior. McManaman, Guti and Figo linked up on the edge of the area causing problems for the Dutch side. The Portuguese was looking sharp and after two earlier efforts he was able to level things up to make it 1-1. The Whites continued to push forward and not long later they were in front. Raúl played the ball out to Figo who crossed for McManaman beating Van der Sar with a good header. The sides went in at the break at 2-1.

Raúl played his first Classic Match and was one of the most acclaimed.

The second half saw the usual changes from both sides. One of them being Seedorf who played the first half for Real Madrid and ended playing for Ajax. The Whites' forward stuck to their work and Figo almost got the third after good work from Raúl and Roberto Carlos.

The minutes passed but the goals didn't arrive despite a number of chances for both sides. Ronald de Boer tried for Ajax and Solari for the madridistas. The touches of quality from the legend was there for the fans to enjoy, Ajax almost got the equaliser but it was Butragueño who got the las goal to make it 3-1. Another successful solidarity party that was also an occasion to remember the great Johan Cruyff.
