“We're one step away from making it very far in the competition and I'm excited”, added the forward.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the big star against Wolfsburgo after notching a hat-trick and he sought to underline the fans' support during the game: "The team were great and the supporters too, it was brilliant. They backed us throughout, from start to finish. It was a perfect night. We played very well and the fans support was great, they gave us the encouragement to win what was a difficult game. We're one step away from making it very far in the competition and we're very excited and happy".

"It's always difficult to come back from 2-0. Tonight was a perfect and magical night for me. I'm pleased with the three goals, but the most important thing is the team, and we played with intensity. Football is full of surprises. In Europe the teams are increasingly stronger and it's always difficult to win the games. We did very well and we deserved to get through".

His own performance
"It wasn't my best performance, I've produced better. Just because I scored three goals doesn't make it my best. I always give of my best, those who work with me know that, and the stats don't lie. If you work hard, the goals and assists follow. I always work hard, I'm a great professional and this just shows that God helps those who work hard".

What Keylor Navas said to him before the free-kick
"He knows how I can hit the ball on free-kicks and he told me to hit it slowly and that's what I did".

Semi-final opponents
"It's difficult to go for either Atlético or Barcelona. Atlético defend better and Barcelona are amongst the best in Europe. The two teams are tough opposition. I would like us to get Benfica, a Portuguese side and it would also mean I'd get the chance to go there".
