Butragueño: “Wolfsburg are a dangerous rival”

“We need to prepare well for the knock out games and get a good result in Germany”, he stated.
Emilio Butragueño, Real Madrid's head of institutional relations, analysed the Champions League quarter final draw from Nyon (Switzerland): "When you are in the quarterfinals you know that any opponent you face will be tough, there are no favourites. Wolfsburg are a dangerous team. They are a German team who have reached this stage of the competition for the first time and will be highly motivated when they face Real Madrid".

"We have to prepare well for the knock out stages, make the most of the quality of our players and get a good resault in Germany. Playing the return leg at home is an advantage if you get a good result in the away leg. We know that the Bernabéu also plays its own part on big European nights, but in order to get there we need to play a good game in Germany and get a good result".

They have quality players and will be highly motivated.

"Wolfsburg finished top of their group, which turned out to be a difficult one, with opponents like PSV and Manchester United, and they have made it through to the quarter finals showing real authority. They have quality players and last year they had a great season in Germany. Furthermore, they will be highly motivated when they face us”.

National teams
“We have to bear in mind also that the knock out games will be played after the national teams have played, so we'll see how the players are. Hopefully they are fresh when they return to training so that Zidane can rely on all of them. Every little detail counts”.
