Raúl bows out as a NASL champion

The Real Madrid legend ended his playing career with a win for the New York Cosmos over Ottawa Fury.
Raúl's professional playing career came to an end with yet another title win. The Spanish striker was proclaimed NASL (North American Soccer League) champion with the New York Cosmos, after beating Ottawa Fury 3-2 in the final. Raúl played the entire game and treated those in attendance at Shuart Stadium to a final display of his footballing talents. In addition to that, the celebrations that followed the championship title win saw him being tossed up in the air by his team-mates.

The Real Madrid legend has hung up his boots 21 years on from making his first team debut for the Whites. Raúl's spectacular career has been crammed full of victories and records, which have turned him into a living legend within the club and within the world of football. He played 741 matches, scored 323 goals and lifted 16 titles with Real Madrid. After putting in countless star performances for the Whites, he continued his professional career with Schalke 04, Qatari side Al-Sadd and the New York Cosmos.
