The five are among 23 players that have been nominated to win the award that will be presented on 11 January 2016 at the Congress Palace in Zurich.
This initial list of 23 names, produced by football experts from the Football Committee and a group of specialists from France Football, will be whittled down to three finalists that FIFA and France Football will publish on 30 November. However, the winner of the award will not be announced until 11 January next year. The Ballon d'Or will be chosen by captains and managers of men's national squads, as well as by representatives of international media outlets chosen by France Football.
