"James and Kroos have had fantastic seasons. They have adapted very well to the team in their first year at the club. I have been surprised by that. They're two very good, very dedicated professionals. Real Madrid have signed two very important players for the future".
Marking the season out of ten
"I don't like to give marks out of ten, because it doesn't make sense. That's for the club to do. We've had two different seasons in one. Until December we achieved everything: records, trophies... And after that we had three months in which we could have done better and it hurt us. We've fought to the end but we haven't won trophies".
"I still haven't spoken to the club and the club hasn't spoken to me. My mindset remains that I am the coach of this team until the club tells me otherwise. On Sunday or Monday we'll sit down and we'll talk about the future. That's what this world is like. Every year there is a lot of movement and I'm surprised that anyone is surprised by that".
Relationship with the president
"I've always had a good relationship with him, and I continue to. In that regard, I haven't seen anything different to what's been the case over the last two years. Our relationship will be a good one even if the club decide to part company with the coach. If I stay I'll be happy, and if not I'll take away the memory of the two fantastic years that I've spent here. If I have to assess these two years, that's the feeling that sticks out; the memory of two fantastic years".
"My feeling is that I'm going to be here. I think that the club is evaluating things and I want to stay here. I like this club and its players. There have been sad moments and happy ones, but last year we experienced perhaps the happiest moment in this club's history. What sticks out for me isn't sadness, but rather that I've given everything I could have".
Authority in the dressing room
"It's a matter of psychology. I want to impose my ideas with my character and my personality. I don't like shouting, because I want the people I'm working with to be convinced by the idea that I'm going to implement".
"As a football fan and from my experience in this world, I understand that I'm being questioned. Everyone has their own personality and is entitled to have the opinion that they see fit. It doesn't bother me that other coaches are being talked about. There are always opinions about changing coaches and it doesn't bother me".
"I came here with a top-level backroom team. I still think that and I have a lot of confidence in the coaches who work with me. They're the best backroom team in the world and everything that I've achieved has been alongside them. We've analysed what happened and it's possible that we need to make the odd change. I still think that my working philosophy is correct".
The squad's physical condition
"We've come into the run-in in better shape than last year, but we had a dip in February that coincided with injuries to important players. After that, the team grew and it's not the case that the team are tired. They're still fresh. In February we dropped important points and that's my personal assessment".
"I would like to be in the dugout, but I've been handed a ban and I still don't know why. I'll stay in the stands, but it's not a big deal".
Support of the players
"I'm grateful for what the players think. We have a very good relationship, but I think that it's an issue the players shouldn't be involved in. It's an issue for the club, who making the decision is down to".
"He didn't ask me to play this game against Getafe. It's a decision that I made. I spoke to him and to Navas and it was decided that Navas would play against Espanyol and Iker at home. Iker wants to stay".
