Real Madrid will find out their Champions League semi-final opponents today

NEWS | 24/04/2015

Juventus, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are the possible rivals (midday CEST).
At midday today, the draw will begin and Real Madrid will find out who they face in the semi-finals of the Champions League. Juventus, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are the three possible teams they could face in this round. The draw, taking place in the Swiss city of Nyon, will not be divided up and clubs from the same country can face one another. The first leg will be played on 5 or 6 May and the return leg will take place on 12 or 13 of the same month. The final will be played on 6 June in Berlin.

Bayern Munich
Leaders of the Bundesliga, the German team are the opponent that Real Madrid knocked out in the semi-finals last season. This year they finished top of Group E, where they faced Manchester City, Roma and CSKA. In the round of 16 they knocked out Shakhtar. After losing the first leg of the quarter-finals in Porto (3-1), they made a resounding comeback at home with a 6-1 win.

Juventus
The Italian team have reached the semi-finals after beating Monaco by an aggregate score of 1-0 in the quarter-finals. Before that, they finished second in Group A and eliminated Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16. The side led by Allegri have dominated the last three seasons in the Italian league and are on their way to a fourth win thanks to a considerable points advantage.

Barcelona
The azulgrana who are engaged in a tight battle for La Liga with Real Madrid, could also be the semi-final rivals in the Champions League. They finished ahead of PSG, Ajax and Apoel Nicosia in the group stage, before eliminating Manchester City and PSG in the round of 16 and the quarter-finals respectively. In the last round, they won 1-3 in Paris and 2-0 at the Camp Nou.
