"This win is really good for our morale", said Arbeloa.
Gareth Bale was in the starting line-up against Deportivo and at the end of the game he spoke about the fortitude shown by the squad: "The team produced a very positive reaction after the defeat last weekend and we're still top of the table. I'm happy with the game today. I wasn't able to score, but I'm happy."

"Schalke are a top side. We're going to look for a win in Germany to take a good lead into the return leg. We're all really looking forward to playing in the Champions League again."

Arbeloa: “The crowd gave us good support”
"Winning was the most important thing today. It was a difficult game and we got a result. What was important was picking up confidence, and now we have to focus on Schalke. This win is really good for our morale."

Nacho: "With the help of the fans we're going to stay strong".

"After all that has been talked about this week, the fans gave us a much better welcome than we could have expected. Whistles mean that demands are being placed on you, and when a team-mate is being whistled we're all being whistled. Real Madrid belongs to the fans and they always demand our utmost. I think that today they gave us good support."

Cristiano Ronaldo
"He created danger and the goal will end up coming. He's the best player in the world and a mentally very tough person. He looks really confident and up for it to me."

Nacho: “The team showed the strength to keep moving forward”
"It has been a long, hard week because of the criticism, but the team has shown that it has the strength to keep moving forward. With the help of the fans we're going to stay strong. We had to win at home. In the end things turned out well and we have to focus on the next game."

"The team isn't tired. There are a lot of really demanding games and maybe it's bad luck. It's a shame that there are so many players injured, but little by little they'll return and will help us."

Support of the crowd
"The Bernabéu is a very demanding stadium. We receive the fans' support and the applause can be heard more than the whistles. That's very important for us."
