Real Madrid to face Schalke 04 in the last 16 of the Champions League

The first leg will be played on 18 February in the Veltins-Arena and the return leg on 10 March in the Santiago Bernabéu.
Real Madrid will take on Schalke 04 in the Champions League round of 16. The Whites will play the first leg of the tie in the Veltins-Arena on either 18 February, while the second leg will be in the Santiago Bernabéu on either 10 March.

The two sides met last season at the same stage of the competition with Madrid winning both games 1-6 and 3-1.

The quarter-final draw will take place on 20 March and the semi-final draw will be held on 24 April. The final will be played in Berlin on 6 June.

Schalke 04
Sixth in the Bundesliga, the Whites' opponents qualified to this stage of the competition on the last matchday by finishing second in Group G behind Chelsea. Their manager, Di Matteo, is the only man to have guided Chelsea to a Champions League title. Their top scorer in the tournament is ex-Real Madrid man Huntelaar, with three goals to his name.
