NEWS | 08/11/2014 | Bárbara Jiménez"Playing in the Bernabéu is as good as it gets”, said Medrán.
“With all the hard work to move top of the table we have to know how to hold on to this position, at the end of the La Liga season everything counts, including the goal difference. Notching up 50 goals for Real Madrid is a source of great pride on a personal level. It is great to reach this tally and I dedicated it specially to my mother, who has put up with me during the good times and the bad".
"We are here to break records as a team but breaking individual records is never a bad thing. I am able to adapt. When I was young I always liked to play up front and in central midfield but I am extremely proud to be able to perform as a centre back and fingers crossed I'll hold onto this position for many years, which would be great".
“The most important thing was beating Rayo in order to keep our spirits high. We have to keep up this form when we return from the international break. It's never a bad thing to meet up with your national team as long as none of the players pick up injuries”.
"He is a player who likes to be at his best all the time. He feels like the team strengthens him. We hope that he is able to win the Ballon d'Or next year, which would be a nod to the great year we have had and all the goals we have scored. He is the best player in the world".
"He is a footballer I have admired for many years because of the way he plays. Perhaps he doesn't stand out that much because he plays further back but he is hugely important. It is an honour to have him because he is coming into his prime at the moment and the team is benefitting as a result".
Medrán: “I rounded off a dream against Rayo”
“I lived out a dream against Levante and rounded it off today. Playing in Real Madrid's stadium is as good as it gets. On top of that, I nearly scored. The team won and hopefully I'll have the chance to score another day. I was congratulated for making my debut in the Bernabéu dressing room and the lads gave me a bit of stick for not finishing off the chance I had”.
“It was a strange feeling. You are playing alongside the best players in the world and you're trying to break into the squad. You have to make the most of your chances in order to reach your best. Now I'm itching to play with Castilla and, if possible, score”.
