"I feel really loved by the Bernabéu fans,” said the captain at the opening of the first ‘Sports Bar’ at Barajas airport.
Iker Casillas took centre stage at the launch of the first ‘Sports Bar’ at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport, opened by Mahou San Miguel in Terminal 2. The Real Madrid captain discussd the terrific form his team is currently enjoying: "What's positive is that we're on an upward trajectory and our aim is to hit peak form and cut the points gap on our La Liga rivals."

“When all our internationals return, we'll all be together and we'll take on the difficult matches that we have ahead of us now. Levante are a team in need of a result. In the two games against Liverpool, we can settle qualification for the next round. And El Clásico is going to be a really great match, and people are already waiting for it to come around."

Making history by winning two consecutive Champions Leagues
“We take on the Champions League fully aware of its difficulty. In Bulgaria it was tough going for us, and that's the nature of this competition. Every team is difficult and causes you problems. Teams are more and more difficult."

The Bernabéu fans
“I feel loved. Nobody likes to be whistled, but I don't have any problems. The fans call the shots and what I have to do is train hard, play well and ensure everyone is celebrating together at Cibeles at the end of the season. I won't go against my own fans, who are there in the hardest moments as well as the good ones."

“There's a good connection with the coach and we're all working together to be in good shape, win trophies and give the fans plenty to shout about. Everyone likes it when your coach talks positively about you. It's very positive for the group."

Impact of his last interview
“When I talk about the club, I'm not talking about the president. If some day I have to talk about the president, I'll do it with him beforehand. When you talk about feeling isolated, it's because you have an injury and you're more removed and not training with your team-mates."

Praise for Isco
“What more can you ask of him. We've won La Décima, the Copa del Rey and the European Super Cup. Let's hope that this year he continues to be a talisman and give things to the Real Madrid fans, who are the ones who most enjoy the team. He is a lad with self-confidence, like Carvajal, and he's also a good guy. We're out to achieve big things."

His situation in the Spain team
“It's going to be a positive transition. I'm not immortal and everyone has to know when to stop playing for the national team. Right now I feel good and with the strength to help my country to get to the European Championship in France and afterwards to try to win it, although it's not going to be easy because there are a lot of teams who are in strong shape."

“I have a great relationship with Del Bosque. I'm not put out about not having played against Luxembourg. It's part of life, because I won't be able to play football forever. De Gea or Casilla are part of the present and the future ahead."

National team
“After a game in which you don't win, things go through your head: annoyance, anger, you make yourself heard... My idea is to continue in the national team as long as the coach so wishes and, in order to do that, earn my place at Real Madrid. I want to be in the national team for as long as possible."

Possible media campaign against Casillas
“I haven't been treated unfairly. When you're around for so long, the best is demanded of you. You have to keep going, put up with the pressure and respond to criticism with your performances on the pitch. In recent years, what sticks in my mind are the good times and the trophies won. When you weigh it all up, the good outweighs the bad."
