The Fundación Real Madrid and Google presented the 'First Prize for the Promotion of Internet Values'

NEWS | 24/02/2014

The event, which was attended by basketball player Tremmel Darden, was presided by Enrique Sánchez, the Fundación Real Madrid's executive vice president, and Francisco Ruiz, Google's manager of Public Policies and Institutional Affairs in Spain and Portugal.
The Fundación Real Madrid has been focusing its work on offering quality sports coaching to boys and girls in Spain through its socio-sporting schools for several years. Thanks to the collaboration with Google España, which makes a continuous effort to promote positive values on the internet, the ‘First Prize for the Promotion of Internet Values’ has been created. It was awarded to pupils who were best able to express their learnings through their creative work on the values of sport and applying it to new technology.

Both parties agreed that technology is an essential element for children because of its endless possibilities and sport is an efficient tool for personal development. Therefore, values such as teamwork, respect and universality can be transmitted to boys and girls while they enjoy a shared passion such as sports or new technology, allowing them to improve their quality of life and develop healthy habits.
