The Federación de Peñas Madridistas de la Comunidad  de Madrid has held its traditional Christmas dinner. The gathering took place in the ‘Asador de la Esquina’ in the Santiago Bernabéu, and was attended by Florentino Pérez.
The president of Real Madrid showed his gratitude for the support from all the fans: “You, the supporters clubs, are the backbone of the club's fans and I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the work you do. The club will always be there for you and will help you as much as it possibly can by means of the two pillars that are economic independence and the unity of Madrid supporters”.

“We are in the midst of a great period for both football and basketball at the club. I think it is going to be a good season and I would like to ask for your continuing support of the players because something as wonderful as being a Madrid fan is worth fighting for”.

Florentino Pérez highlighted unity and economic independence as key factors for the stability of the club: "Real Madrid has gone global and we have the great responsibility of continuing our work, so that in 100 years' time others can add to the great legacy of Madrid”.

We must keep on top of things in order to keep growing and building the club's legacy.

“This is why economic independence is so important, it makes us the masters of our own destiny. In this sense, we enjoy great stability despite the times in which we are living. The unity of the members is also very important. Madrid supporters are always behind our team through good times and bad. These two pillars are our strength and we should never forget it”.

All those present gave the Whites' president a warm welcome upon his arrival and, together with the various Real Madrid supporters associations, representatives of the Rayo Vallecano, Getafe and Barcelona supporters clubs were also invited to the dinner.

Attendees included the assistant vice president, Eduardo Fernández de Blas; Luis Gómez-Montejano,  a member of the board; the Supporters Clubs director, Manuel Gómez; the Social Department director, Jose Luis Sánchez; Julio González Ronco, managing director of the Fundación Real Madrid; and ex-player Antonio Ruíz.
