The Mahou San Miguel group is a Spanish beer maker based in Madrid. The group distributes three main brands of beer: Mahou, San Miguel and Alhambra, each beer has its own recipe but all of them have the unmistakeable taste of Mahou. It is the largest Spanish exporter of beer, and produces 75% of the Spanish beer that is consumed in the world.
The company has its origins in Madrid, where the siblings Alfredo, Enrique, Luis and Carolina Mahou Solana set up a company “Hijos de Casimiro Mahou” in 1890 that was dedicated to the manufacturing of beer and ice. Today more than 2,500 people work on the development of the group, with international growth, innovation and continued improvement.
Cervezas Mahou has been the proud sponsor of Real Madrid for almost 15 years. Mahou focuses its support on Spanish clubs, especially those in the Community of Madrid. As such, Real Madrid is its main asset, and is also associated with the image of the beer internationally. San Miguel 0´0, the non-alcoholic version of the well-known San Miguel brand is the sponsor of Real Madrid Basketball.
