Varane was a key player in the historic era, which between 2014 and 2018 saw the club win four European Cups, three of them in a row. Born in Lille (France) on 25 April 1993, Varane arrived at Real Madrid at the age of 18 in the summer of 2011. He was unveiled on 27 June and made his official debut for the club on 21 September of that year against Racing Santander.

Over his ten seasons at Real Madrid he won an outstanding 18 titles: 4 Champions League, 4 Club World Cups, 3 European Super Cups, 3 Spanish Super Cups, 3 LaLiga titles, 1 Spanish Cup and 3 Spanish Super Cups. The French centre-back scored 17 goals and made 360 appearances for the team.

The year 2018 will never be forgotten by Varane. He won his fourth European Cup with Real Madrid in Kiev in late May, in mid-July won the World Cup in Russia with the French national team where he played a starring role and, on an individual level, he was named in the FIFA/FIFPro World XI.
