Carvajal: "We gave our all on the pitch"
"We have to focus on LaLiga and try to widen the gap between us and our opponents," said the defender.
Carvajal spoke to the media after the Copa derby and said: "It was a very even game, with some strange goals. The whole week has taken its toll on us, a semi-final with extra time, long journeys... And this ground is always very difficult. Congratulations to our opponents, who scored more goals than us."
"The last phase of extra time was tough for us, but I wouldn't put it down to that. The 3-2 came from a loss and it really hurt us. It was the moment when we were at our best, if we had controlled the ball the game could have gone our way."

"The minutes are piling up, the trips, the games... We wanted to continue in the Cup. We were really looking forward to it, but it wasn't to be. We had our work cut out and we gave it our all. I have nothing to reproach my team-mates for, I think they gave everything out there. We have to be optimistic and always look on the bright side. Now we have a couple of weeks to focus on LaLiga and try to widen the gap between us and our rivals."
Two defeats at the Metropolitano
"It's a coincidence that both defeats this season have been here. If we have to play here again, I hope it doesn't recur. We gave our utmost but it wasn't possible. Now we'll focus on LaLiga on Sunday against Almería to try to consolidate our position at the top."
