Butragueño presents sports-education clinics to be held in Namibia
In collaboration with local company Cadilu Fishing, they will run in May in Keetmanshoop and Gobabis and in October in Opuwo and Eenhana.
Emilio Butragueño, Director of Institutional Relations for Real Madrid, received a delegation from Namibia at Real Madrid City, led by Agnes Tjongarero, Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service; Albertus Aochamub, Namibian Ambassador to France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Morocco; and José Luis Reyero, President of Cadilu Fishing. The purpose was to present the programme of educational football clinics to be held in Namibia this year.
The clinics will be organised in the towns of Keetmanshoop and Gobabis from 13 to 24 May and in Opuwo and Eenhana from 7 to 18 October. The programme is being held for the second year and will involve more than 1,000 children. It will be funded by Cadilu Fishing, supported by the Ministries of Sport and Education and the Spanish Embassy in Namibia.
Two Foundation coaches will travel to the country to attend to young people who want to enjoy a unique experience through football and learn values with the educational methodology of the Foundation. The support of the country's Ministry of Sports and the Spanish Embassy in the region have ensured that the clinics have become a recurring programme. In addition, there are plans to consolidate further support for sport and education in the country with the opening of an Educational Football Programme from September this year, which will also be supported by Cadiulu Fishing. The proceeds from these activities will support the socio-sports projects that the Real Madrid Foundation runs in the region for children at risk of exclusion.
The Foundation's clinics
These clinics allow children who have already started playing football to develop their football skills through specific training under the guidance of coaches trained in the organisation's methodology Por una educación real: Valores y deporte (For a real education: Values and sport). They are all endorsed by the Real Madrid Sports Department.
