Chus Mateo: “It'd be great to pick up another EuroLeague win”
“We have to show consistency throughout the match against Bayern,” said Abalde.

Chus Mateo spoke to the press on the eve of opening game of 2025, as our team host Bayern on EuroLeague matchday 19 (Friday, 9:00pm CET). The coach reflected: “It'd be great to pick up another EuroLeague win. Bayern is a team that plays fantastic basketball, especially in offense, with some high-scoring players. They've had a sensational first half of the season. We're defending better than we were when we played in Munich. We're in great shape to face this opponent."
“All us madridistas can only have wonderful things to say about this player. I don't know where we would be without Llull. I'm sure Madrid would be equally great, but Llull has contributed much of that greatness to the club. When times are tough, it's fantastic to have someone like him to turn to."
Deck's injury
“What happened to Deck has hit us all hard. After all the injuries he's had, we were hoping he could maintain the levels he was showing until the end of the season. He's a hugely important player in the locker room. It's a big injury, he has to recover well, he may miss out on the Copa.”
The demands of the EuroLeague
“You can't take anything for granted in this competition. Anyone can win home or away at this level against stronger opposition. Every game has its own story."
Abalde: “Wins help build momentum”
“Winning is what helps you build positive momentum, we have room for improvement, and we have to pick up wins in the EuroLeague, especially at home. Bayern are a solid outfit, they know how to play and make you pay for any mistakes. We have to be consistent throughout the game. We have to take it one match at a time because every one is difficult, and the schedule is very tough."
