Campazzo: “It's the first Clásico and we have to be prepared”
“These types of matches demand 100% from you both physically and mentally,” said the point guard on Realmadrid TV.
Campazzo spoke to Realmadrid TV on the eve of his team’s EuroLeague clash with Barcelona, which will be played at the Palau (Friday, 8.30 pm CET): “These are really emotional matches. I think that if we can control the fans' emotions, the tempo of the game and impose our identity, we'll be in control for most of the match. It's the first Clásico and there are always lots of factors that cause anxiety and nervousness, but if we play the way we've been playing lately and apply what we do in training, we'll be fine.”
“You have to be prepared for these kinds of matches. They demand 100% from you physically and mentally. We have a lot of players who are going to play in a Clásico for the first time, so we have to stick together and be united in the difficult moments and in the good ones. You also have to enjoy yourself, you have to really enjoy these kinds of matches and play them as if they were a final.”
Barcelona
“They play with great confidence at home. They're also a very experienced team; they know how to play in this league. We've faced each of their players many times at their former clubs. The match will come down to the details, to trying to handle their experience. They have a lot of offensive strength in different positions, which means you have to be 100% mentally focused. You can't relax. We'll probably have ups and downs, as always, but we have to try to control the game and be as steady as possible to get the win.”
On the team’s form
“We're improving with every game. We always take positives from both victories and defeats. Obviously, it's all new and it's a process of adaptation that has only just begun. But there's a good feeling here. Everyone here wants to win and that means we're all in the same boat. We're really looking forward to tomorrow's game, which will be a good test for this group.”
