Today marks 50 years since Real Madrid's basketball team won their 16th Copa title. On May 25, 1974, our team beat Joventut in a hard-fought final played in Alicante. The Catalan team took the first half and headed into half-time two points up (48-50). Pedro Ferrándiz's boys then turned the game around in the second half, completing the comeback at 87-85.
Brabender, with 20 points, Cristóbal and Rullán, both with 12, were the top performers for the madridistas. Our team lifted their fifth consecutive Cup to round off a perfect campaign that also saw them clinch the European Cup and the League.
