Eight games left to play for Real Madrid before the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. Just one win behind Olympiacos but with a game in hand, Real Madrid sit in second place, and today welcome Valencia Basket as they look to quickly return to winning ways. It will be the second game this week at the WiZink Center in less than two days.

Madrid return to El Palacio tonight to take on another Spanish team, Valencia Basket, in the round 28 of the Euroleague, with little time to prepare for the game. Chus Mateo's men had won five straight games before last Tuesday's game, putting them at the top of the standings. A tough battle with Olympiacos for the top spot now sees them entertain a team that is in the thick of the fight for a place in the top eight. The side from Valencia occupy eleventh position with 13 wins and only one win separating them from the playoffs. The last three times these sides have met this season have all been decided in Madrid's favour: 73-80 in the Euroleague, 79-62 in the league and 86-85 in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey.
Madrid will be up against a Valencia Basket side coming off three consecutive defeats in Europe after suffering a loss at home to Milan in the last round. They are the side that has attempted the second most three-pointers per game and are a highly competitive and physically robust team. The Whites will have to assert themselves in attack, as the Taronjas are conceding 85.3 points on average, almost 10 more than Madrid. They have a strong point guard position with Jones, Harper and Evans; shooters including former Madrid man Prepelic and a versatile inside line-up with Dubljevic, Claver, Rivero and Web III.

Another step towards the playoffs
Chus Mateo
has recovered Tavares and Rudy for the battle, both of whom excelled against Baskonia. Musa continues to lead the way offensively with 15.3 points per game. Defeating Valencia Basket will be crucial ahead of another tough EuroLeague double-header away against Anadolu Efes Tuesday 14, 6:30pm and EA7 Emporio Armani Milan at the WiZink Center Thursday 16; 8:45pm.
