Baxi Manresa-Real Madrid: the second half of the league campaign gets underway
NEWS.
Three days after beating Barça in the Euroleague Clásico, Real Madrid face a tough away day in the first clash in the second half of the league season. Our team sit top of the table ahead of matchday 18 and now face a Baxi Manresa side who are always competitive at the Nou Congost.

It's the last game of January for Real Madrid, who have won nine of their last ten league outings. Things are quite different for Baxi Manresa. Pedro Martínez's men are struggling with players coming in and out and a glut of injuries, the latest to one of their key men, Waczynski. They lie in sixteenth with 3 wins but that's no reflection of what awaits the madridistas, against a team that always competes to the very end. Last time out against Unicaja, they fell to defeat in over-time.

Madrid is the highest-rated team in the competition 106.8. Three of the four players at the top of the list play on the inside, a reflection of our strength in the paint: Tavares 18.8, Yabusele 14 and Poirier 10.5. The other is Musa. The Bosnian forward is the third-highest scorer in the league 16.1 and it's set to be a fierce duel with Harding, who sits second 16.3. The defender will have a crucial role to play against a talented Manresa offense who move the ball well and have some of the highest assist figures in the competition. Alongside Harding, Dani Pérez and Ferrari big threats from the outside. In the paint, they rely largely on Robinson, Geben and Vaulet.

Madrid run at the Nou Congost
The Manresa court is one of the most vociferous in the ACB and always a tough place to go for rival teams, but Madrid have historically been unplayable there. The madridistas have won on every visit to Manresa since the 1998-99 campaign, most recently in last season's quarter-finals 74-83.
