Real Madrid Castilla couldn't do enough to extend their winning streak as they fell to defeat in Lezama against Athletic Club B in an intense, evenly matched tie. The Whites' deserved a point on their visit to Bilbao, but the Basque outfit were clinical enough to take the three points.

The madridista youth team wasted no time in shaking off the hosts' early pressure after they had looked on top in the opening stages of the clash. Nikos forced a penalty with 14 minutes gone, but Enzo failed to convert from the spot. Castilla kept the pressure up though, and they did open the scoring not long after when an Achraf drive from the edge of the box was deflected into his own net by Núñez in the 29th minute.

Clinical edge
Castilla's joy was short-lived though, and it was Núñez who redeemed himself with 34 minutes gone to level the tie from a set-piece. The intensity levels didn't dip in the second half and both teams contributed to an entertaining, lively tie, which ended up going the way of Athletic when Jurgi Oteo made the most of the best chance of the second half on 60 minutes.

The madridistas did their best to respond but just couldn't find gaps in the hosts' defence, and they even ended the game a man down after Enzo was sent off in added time. The defeat leaves Castilla three points off the promotion places.
