The goalkeeper, who was recognised after a brilliant year with Real Madrid in which he won the Champions League, Club World Cup and European Super Cup, said: "I want to thank God for the blessing of life, is the most important thing: to be healthy to achieve these things. Thank you very much because it is a great honour for me to represent my country and a privilege to play for Real Madrid. I have this with me every day and It’s what motivates me to keep fighting".
"God has always given me the strength to achieve my dreams and at times like this I realise that it’s worth fighting and striving for. Winning trophies and titles at a club like Real Madrid is priceless. Thanks to the Efe Agency and my teammates because they have always helped me".
"I have had great goalkeeping coaches and we now work very well with Llopis. For me it’s very nice to work with him because he has known me for some time. I have always had the desire to learn and improve and that’s a constant in my life".
"We focus on knowing what has got us in to this position: hard work, effort and the unity of the group that we have. We have to enjoy because it’s difficult to be where we are. We’re very happy and we have to take advantage of where we are, but there are a lot of games left, we want to win and continue as we have been doing".
"We have to keep our humility. We are doing ok, but we know it’s a long road and we cannot relax. We know what it has taken to get to where we are and we are going to go in to every game and give everything because we want to win all the titles that are left this year".
The president of the Efe Agency, Jose Antonio Vera, gave Keylor the trophy, which is celebrating its 26th edition, and praised the goalkeeper in his speech: "It is a prize that is more than deserved, as a result of constancy, commitment and the attitude of a humble and simple player who has shown that he can defend the Real Madrid goal like one of the great.
