NEWS | 01/12/2016“We played a good match and we go away frustrated to have lost it like this”, said Rudy Fernández.
Pablo Laso and Rudy Fernández discussed Real Madrid's match against Fenerbahçe which went the way of the Turkish side in the final play. The Whites' coach took away bitter-sweet feelings: “I'm not unhappy with the match, but I'm not pleased with the result. It was a match we could have won but it just got away from us on tiny details, which I hope we'll learn from in the future”.
“When you come to play against a team like Fenerbahçe, if you want to win you have to do things well, and ultimately, it's the small things that make the difference. I think we handled the game well and we were able to react to the situations they threw at us. We moved the ball well, knowing how strong they are in defensive”.
“We did a lot of things well, dominating the rebound against a team with players like Vesely and Udoh. We were able to find answers to everything defensively, even if Nunnally showed up at the end. The team looked solid. That's the minimum you ask of your team. You go away frustrated not having won after good work for almost the entire game”.
“A match of this quality in December is part of the appeal of the Euro League. Knowing that you're going to play against a great side every week, it's a very demanding format. It was a great game of basketball today, between two teams who are aiming for the top”.
Rudy: “We showed good attitude and courage”
“The team played a good game. We fought hard against a great side. We go away frustrated to have lost it like this but pleased to have played a great match. There are elements that have an influence, like the fans and other things beyond our control”.
“The referees have a very tough job, really difficult, but they got it wrong today. They were very good for the whole match but they made one mistake and it's cost us".
