Cristiano Ronaldo scored both of the team's goals in the victory over Sporting to bring the number of games in which he has netted at least twice during 2016 to 10. The first game in which the Portuguese striker notched two-plus goals came back in January, when he hit a brace in the Asturian side's visit to the Bernabéu. Ronaldo's goalscoring exploits have included five games in which he's been at the double, four hat-tricks and one five-goal haul, which came in the 7-1 triumph over Celta.
In terms of the competitions that these goal-laden displays have come in, nine of the games were league fixtures, with the remaining match in the Champions League, in a key performance against Wolfsburg which secured progress to the next round. The Santiago Bernabéu has witnessed seven of these games, whilst the remaining three were played at Riazor, Mendizorroza and the Vicente Calderón.
Cristiano Ronaldo is in fine goalscoring form away from home in LaLiga, having claimed hat-tricks in the side's last two away games, against Alavés and Atlético de Madrid. In total, the madridista forward has 12 goals to his name this term.
