I don't know whether or not it's fair, but it's the way it's gone. It's a point, we keep picking them up, and in the first half we had chances to hurt them".
"They scored their goal in the second half, we let up a bit and they grew in confidence. It's a point but it doesn't feel like a win. We can be very happy with how we played against a very tough opponent. Now we have to rest up because we've got another match in no time at all”.
Blow to morale
“I don't think so. We've got a six-point advantage, but that won't change anything. This is a long-run thing and we have to work hard until the end. We're pleased with the point but we know that La Liga will be tough right to the finish”.
It's always Ramos
“It doesn't surprise me anymore. It's the way he is. He's got real personality and you can always count on him in these games. He never lets his head drop and he's motivated until the final minute. It's great for us”.
“It was a real collective effort. It's not an easy place to come and we were under pressure, but it's difficult for anyone. I'll underline the team's hard work. At the end, as always, Ramos is there to score and I'm happy for him, and we've managed to get something thanks to our belief until the final moment”.]]>http://www.realmadrid.com/en/news/2016/12/minutes-silence-for-chapecoense-prior-to-el-clasicohttp://www.realmadrid.com/en/news/2016/12/ramos-we-ve-worked-really-hard-and-this-is-our-rewardFootball
“It was a hard-fought clash and both teams wanted to keep the ball. Perhaps we had more chances in the first half but we lacked a clinical edge in front of goal. The points difference is reward for the hard week we’ve been doing since the start of the season. We mustn’t get carried away because there’s still a long way to go in La Liga, but it’s better to have it in our own hands than to depend on others.”
“It was high intensity. It was a high-risk game and we played to our limits. On top of all that you always have to show sportsmanship. Now we have to keep working and rack up the points, turn our attentions to the Champions League and soon we’ll have to focus on La Liga again”.
Lucas: “Both teams had good chances”
“Over the course of 90 minutes I think it was a fair result. Both teams had good chances and in the end a draw was fair. We lacked a bit of accuracy up top, but in the end we were able to snatch a draw thanks to Ramos’ goal and that’s bad. This is a difficult ground to come to, we knew how to suffer and we did everything to get the draw”.

The name of the Real Madrid captain should forever be associated with the spell between the 90th minute until the referee blows the final whistle. Real Madrid didn't deserve to lose this evenly matched Clásico and they didn't thanks to his wonderful headed effort in the last minute. The Whites have now gone 33 games unbeaten and keep the gap at 6 points from Barcelona, while they are 7 ahead of Sevilla.
The first half belonged to the Whites as it was played at an incredible pace, though few real chances were created. The best opportunities fell the way of the madridistas, particularly in the final stages. In the 3rd minute, the referee refused to blow for a penalty as Mascherano upended Lucas Vázquez in the area. A very solid-looking Real Madrid controlled the centre of the park with Modric, Kovacic and Isco all faultless, not allowing Barcelona to pose any real threat to the madridista area.
The league leaders, however, upped the pressure in the final moments of the half, and had a chance to score with 37 on the clock, but Cristiano Ronaldo's left-footed strike was pushed behind for a corner by Ter Stegen following a moment of individual quality. The same players linked-up just one minute later as a Modric long ball found Lucas Vázquez, who combined with the Portuguese man. He took just two touches to bewitch the Barcelona defence, a nutmeg on Mascherano for good measure, but could only find the hosts' goalkeeper with his shot.
The Whites' threat didn't end there though, and in the 44th minute they had a double opportunity. Benzema swung in a dangerous cross and Piqué, at full stretch, sent the ball out for a corner. We did a little bit of recovery yesterday to get back to normal. We trained well today and looked at how Fuenlabrada play. We have to show them respect like we do all our opponents and take the game seriously from the off so we don't have to overexert ourselves”.
“First off we have to stay top of the league and we've got a game against a team who plays a very open, fast paced game and where Jota Cuspinera has fostered a style at Fuenlabrada. They've got some injured players back, like Wear and we have to stay solid and see how our boys are, Draper is a doubt”.
“The team has been improving gradually and in a physical respect we've had few injuries, which has allowed us to carry on the way we wanted. His numbers are particularly impressive on the road, where he has 7 goals in his last 3 clashes away from home for the Whites.
The run began on matchday 8 at the Benito Villamarín when Cristiano Ronaldo rounded off the 1-6 win over Betis. Two weeks later, he shone in Vitoria, netting a hat-trick in the 1-4 victory. Then in his most recent away clash he led the way once again, with another hat-trick at the Vicente Calderón.

The world is set to come to a standstill to take in all of the action at the Camp Nou as the previous two European champions go head-to-head (4.15pm CET). Real Madrid go into the game as leaders of LaLiga and quite possibly in their best form of the campaign, after having chalked up five wins in the final stages of the calendar year, including victory at Vicente Calderón in the side's last away assignment in the league.
The Whites, who are riding a 32-game unbeaten run and have netted in their last five league visits to the Camp Nou, head into this clash with a clear objective: to increase their cushion over the Azulgranas to nine points, which would see the Whites maintain, at the very least, the advantages that they have on the chasing pack (Sevilla are also sitting six points off Madrid, whilst Atlético are nine points off the pace).

“We always have a lot to play for. We have to give our all, as always to play a good game. If we play well, remain focused and start the match strongly, we'll be able to do things well”.
Not playing for a draw
“We're only thinking about putting in a good performance. I'm not considering a draw, a win or a defeat. I'm not thinking about the result, just about giving everything so that after the game we won't be able to say we were lacking something. The result is the consequence of what you do out on the pitch. If we do things well, we'll be able to get a positive result”.
Type of game
“We have to show the same intensity we managed against Atlético. I'm not interested in the Barcelona's performance against Real Sociedad. It certainly won't be the same as that game. We're playing against the current champions, and champions always turn up in the big games. We need to be prepared because we've got a lot of champions as well and it's going to be a great clash”.
“I've already decided the starting eleven. Casemiro is with us and we all know what he has to offer but we'll see what happens tomorrow. I'm happy to have him back because he's getting better every day”.
Nomination for Best Coach 2016
“I'm improving every day and I'm learning. It's not been a long time for me to be among the three candidates. I'm involved and very grateful to the profession. There are a lot of coaches who should perhaps come ahead of me in the list. I'm enjoying myself and learning every day. If I stick to my job as a coach, I'm sure I'll get better”.
Iniesta and Kroos
“Iniesta's presence won't change what we're setting out to do, but he's a great player and is very important to his team. Kroos is ok but he's still a little way off and we'll have to take our time with him”.
“I've not spoken to him especially. He's a great professional, he knows how to get ready for games. He knows himself well and all I'm interested in, is how important he is for the other players. He has incredible energy and I'm glad to see him happy and so focused on winning things. He's got everything this year and he's still hungry. That's great for the group”.
Importance of the group
“It's to be expected that everyone feels important, it should always be the case. There is another philosophy for a coach - when I started playing there were just eleven players and two off the bench. Now we can take 18 players and use more of them, and I'm convinced that's the way to do things. The group, more so in this great club, it the most important thing. They're all good players and have a crucial role”. ]]>http://www.realmadrid.com/en/news/2016/12/butragueno-and-roberto-carlos-signed-the-book-of-condolences-at-the-brazilian-embassyClubhttp://www.realmadrid.com/en/news/2016/11/official-announcementhttp://www.realmadrid.com/en/news/2016/11/minutes-silence-for-the-victims-of-the-colombia-plane-crash
