Michael Laudrup was a wonderful talent and one of the best players in the history of European football. His vision on the field was perfect, even in the tightest of spaces, and he stood out for his ability to deliver killer final balls while looking the other way. He was a very special player, whose elegance on the ball and devastating dribbling skills made him almost unstoppable.

He started his career in the youth system at Brondby and made his debut for Denmark at the age of just 18. He then went on to play for Juventus and Barcelona from where he left for Real Madrid in 1994, in a season in which the club also made another major signing in the shape of Fernando Redondo.

Laudrup placed his vision and skill at the service of the team and played an outstanding role in winning La Liga in his first season as well as the famous 5-0 victory over Barcelona in 1995. After two seasons at Real Madrid, he left to try his luck in the Japanese league with Vissel Kobe, and in 1997 he signed for Ajax where he retired as a player and started his career as a coach.
