HISTORY:

Our Peña was founded by Christian Paredes, Jorge Borda, Melvyn Peñate, Michael Bretón, & Rafa Gómez on August 6th, 2012, four days after the exhibition between Real Madrid & Los Angeles Galaxy in Los Angeles, California.  The idea came about after seeing more than 20,000 Madridistas singing and cheering the team of the League of Records at the Home Depot Center of Carson, California.  After studying the Peñas in Spain, we wanted to create an authentic & traditional Peña in our region, & at that moment La Peña Madridista del Sur de California was born.
 
We abide by the Foreign By-Laws that were given to us by Real Madrid Club de Fútbol.  We do a General Meeting once a year in January.  We also organize a Christmas dinner to close the year in December.
 
We get together for various games of Copa, Liga, & Champions during the season at Dublin's Bar (815 West 7th Street, Los Angeles, 90017).  We celebrated the Final of the Tenth there with more than 200 people between Members & guests in attendance.  A 'White' party!
 
The website (in English & Spanish) is complete with photos, history, links to our sister Peñas, polls, store, & information about the next events (www.realmadridcalifornia.com).  Also we organize at least one trip per year to watch a Real Madrid game in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.  When the team comes to California for preseason, the Peña is always present!  On August 3rd 2013 we had a party before the game & a section to support the team against Everton in Dodger Stadium of Los Angeles for the semifinals of the International Champions Cup.  On July 26th 2014 we had 50 Members present in a section to watch Real Madrid against Inter Milán in Berkeley, California for the second edition of the tournament.
 
Our Peña has been represented in various official events & games of Real Madrid in Spain.  Our first President Christian Paredes attended the Peña Reunion & Corazón Classic Match between Real Madrid & Juventus in Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on June 9th 2013.  He also attended the Copa del Rey Final between Real Madrid & Barcelona in Mestalla Stadium in Valencia April 16th 2014 with sister Peñas Capote y Montera, Carabaña, We are the Champions, and La Gran Familia.  Furthermore we had Members present in Santiago Bernabéu Stadium for the League Clasicos 2013 & 2014, and in Morocco for the Club World Cup Final.  We will continue sending Members to participate in official Club events & support the team in official games of all the tournaments each year.
 
Following the example of Fundación Real Madrid, our Peña contributed to the community with donations to Children's Hospital Los Angeles to help sick children.  The first Social Project generated more than 1,000 Euros after raffling a signed jersey by Sergio Ramos.  We hope to surpass this amount in the next social projects & we will always look for other opportunities to help the community & place the name of the Club at the highest level.
 
We have sister relationships with Peñas from other parts of the world, and we are members of the new Federación Internacional de Peñas Madridistas, which Christian Paredes is the Vice President.  This Federación includes more than 50 Peñas in 30 countries.
 
During the first two years, our Peña has accumulated more than 30 Honorary Members.  These Members have shown total support for our Peña & the Club in their capacities.  Some are part of the sport media in the United States & Spain.  Others are Members of other Peñas from around the world, and ex-players of Real Madrid, such as Mr. Emilio Butragueño!
 
Finally our Peña joined with the Peña Madridista Atlanta to create the first Podcast of debate, analysis, & opinion about Real Madrid for american Madridismo in 2015!  It is called "La Mansión Blanca - Madridismo Made in USA".  We have special guests from other american Peñas, & Honorary Members from the sport media, such as beIN Sports, ESPN Deportes, & Madrid press, such as Diario AS.  There are episodes in Spanish & English, release 2 episodes per month, & are available on our websites as well as the site of iVoox!
