A festive and joyful atmosphere presided over the Partido X la Ilusion (Match for Hope), sponsored by Iker Casillas. The crowd at the Palacio de los Deportes were thrilled by the exploits of footballers like Granero, Casillas, Reyes and Miguel Torres; former players such as Hierro and Cannavaro; and other sportsmen and artists, such as Alejandro Sanz, David Bustamante, Sergio Garcia, Hector Barbera and Alvaro Bautista. Proceeds will be destined to two projects that aim to fight against unemployment amongst young people.
Pignoise, Rasel, La Musicalite, Huecco, Robert Ramirez and the Real Madrid cheerleaders performed before the match kicked-off.
The first of many goals was scored in the 2nd minute by Miguel Angel Muñoz, who defeated Casillas with an excellent shot. The Black Team was focused and scored two more strikes in the next five minutes through Reyes.
It took the White Team longer to get into the match, but they soon tallied goals of their own. The first was netted by Cannavaro from a header. Huecco and Polo drew the score close to half-time. The audience was especially supportive of Casillas, who despite recently suffering from an allergic reaction (visible on his face) did not want to miss the clash.
The Black Team scored again after half-time from a crossed shot by Alvaro Benito. De la Red drew the score with two minutes left in the clash from a free-kick.
