Real Madrid

Real Madrid is the embodiment of victory and setting a good example in sports, things the club wishes to promote through its Foundation. President Florentino Perez and Filippo Grandi, Commissioner General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, signed an agreement to build eight social and sports academies in Gaza and the West Bank for 10,000 refugee children. The signing took place in the Presidential Balcony of the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Enrique Sanchez, Executive Vice President of the Realmadrid Foundation, and the UNRWA Spanish Committee Executive Director, Raquel Marti, were also in attendance.

This is yet aother step taken by the Foundation in favour of those who need aid. This agreement will help 10,000 refugee children by combining sports with integration.

"The education of the new generations, which are the future, is the essential nexus by which to consolidate peace in the Middle East. With close to 700 schools in the Middle East, UNRWA makes a special point to impart quality education accessible to all refugee children, in order for them to learn about the principles of tolerance, gender equality and personal improvement. This joint project between the UNRWA and the Realmadrid Foundation will promote these issues."
